Magnetics field

Goal

To study the behavior of a tavern magnet in varying magnetic fields at the conclusion of a solenoid and hence estimate the lateral component BH of the Globe's magnetic areas. Theory

A magnet can be an object that may exert a magnetic pressure to any target around this. When a metallic object is positioned near it, the permanent magnetic force will attract it on the magnet. The magnetic push forms a magnetic field around the magnet which is hidden to human being naked eye. When two magnetic fields from two different magnets meet, interest or repulsion will occur between the magnets according to the post of the magnetic fields. [pic]

From the plan, we can see the magnetic field has a path. The magnetic force come out from the N pole and goes to the S post. There are simply no distinguished lines which individual the N and H pole in a magnet. One part of the magnetic will always be D and the different will always be S.

The ongoing production of magnetic field from the earth can be discussed with the Dynamo Theory. When conducting fluid flows throughout an existing permanent magnetic field, electrical currents are induced, which often creates an additional magnetic field. When this magnetic field reinforces the original magnetic discipline, a dynamo is created that sustains itself.

Magnetic field can be created artificially. Once current circulation through a line, a magnet field is produce surrounding the wire. The direction of the magnetic field is depending on direction of the current. Although this kind of magnetic field is usually not long term. The strength of the magnetic field produce depends upon what number of converts in the solenoid and the volts of current applied. In this instance, we can easily adjust the strength of magnet produced by adjusting the volts of the current. Apparatus

i) A retort stand and two magnetic clamps

ii) A cork and an optical pin

iii) A set of little bar magnetic fixed which has a pair of optical pins iv) A plane mirror placed on a protractor

v) Twine of length about 40cm

vi) A test tube wound with copper cables

vii) A 2V accumulator or any additional stable power

viii) A (0-1) power ammeter

ix) An on-off switch and three linking wires

x) A rheostat

xi) A pair of vernier disc brake calipes
