An Analysis of

Bienvenido Santos'

The 03 of Loss of life

Bienvenido Santos' March of Death produced impacts of varied sorts personally. First, that struck me emotionally. The chinese language used in the poem was simple however hadn't failed to portray photos beautifully; painfully at times. Lines such as " Did you look through the blood vessels in your sight, for Celia sitting by window…” made so brilliant a characterization of how it must have been getting in America although acts of cruelty were being done against your fellowmen, people you loved and knew in the Philippines. It was as though he were depicting himself imagining how a good friend were struggling; hoping, praying to see a familiar face (Celia) for he felt loss of life was nearing, surrounding him; longing for whatever familiar, for almost any bit of comfort. That one line portrayed the feeling of helplessness perfectly that it invoked an discomfort in the chest. Other lines such as " No, you have not perished; you cannot pass away; I have believed your plea touch my personal heart as I walked the crowded streets of America…” portray pictures of expect when there were, as I envision, so little still left to expect. In this series, I think Bienvenido Santos appreciates the power of opinion or, perhaps, faith. It really is as if this individual imagined the people in the death march beginning lose hope, to lose the will to have and, with this, told himself that he had to hope if they no longer do; to believe that they would make this through in; to keep his faith inside the same Goodness they prayed to. Again, the lines were fabulous contributors for the depiction of the amount of emotional battling one went through knowing her or his loved ones had been going through unreasonable torture, probably to the point of death. It was saddening, indeed, that one of the most probable interpretation I could make of the composition is that the publisher wrote this kind of piece being a requiem into a friend whom died inside the Bataan Death March.

Over and above striking me personally emotionally, the piece minted my mind. A history that one may possibly discover through...
