Nowadays good and evil coexist, often in a single entity. The options that individuals make determine whether or not the community should consider the face good or perhaps evil. Many people make bad decisions in order to acquire a good result. However , most struggle with picking out what to do. Central to David Steinbeck's East of Eden the theme of good versus evil reveals through the information of scenery, Samuel Edinburgh, who symbolizes supreme benefits, and Cathy Ames Trask, the most evil character in the novel. In the first section, the author sets out the central structure of good and wicked in the form of the symbolic surroundings of the Salinas Valley in California. Often associated with light, Samuel Stalinsky, a self-educated immigrant coming from Northern Ireland in europe who considers books being treasures, displays the positive principle of existence. A good father figure, " It had been the sweetness of his tongue and the tenderness of his soul. And there was clearly just a cleanness about his body, so there was a cleanness in the thinking (Steinbeck, 11).
